NEW DELHI: A poster of lifestyle products giant Fastrack has angered the women. The poster displays an woman with duct tapes covering her body. The tape has ‘sale’ written on it.

The poster was put up at the Rajiv Chowk Metro Station in the heart of the city. The station is used by thousands of women everyday. Many of them disapproved of displaying vulgar posters in public premises.

A group of journalists registered protest with the DMRC authorities. Kamlesh Mathani, one among them, raised the issue on social media asking others to protest using women’s body to boost sales.

“They must stop treating women as commodities,” she said, to find support from others on popular networking sites. Mathani and her friends said they will continue their fight until business houses stop resorting to such cheap tricks to sell products.

“It’s humiliating to all the women. At first look, the poster conveys a message as if Fastrack is selling girls. Why do they need a poster to display a semi-nude girl to sell watches and other such products,” she said and thanked all for extending support.

Another journalist, Akansha Kumari, said, “What does this advertisement mean? That women are on sale?”

“We complained to the Metro officials who said they had got a complaint earlier too. Clearly, Delhi Metro has taken no action,” she said.
