NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi finally declared on Sunday that the proposed land acquisition ordinance would expire on Monday and won’t be re-promulgated. However, PM Modi said seven changes in the Manmohan Singh-led UPA govt bill will be executed with a view bring the direct benefit to farmers,

Modi while delivering his Mann Ki Baat said, farmers were misled by the opposition whereas it was actually in their favour. Since an impression was created that farmers will lose their land for no major benefit, his govt took the decision. at the same time Modi said seven changes were be made in the existing bill so that poors and farmers are not lag behind.

Among others, Modi spoke about the Patels reservation stir in Gujarat and expressed his happiness that it will settled in a day. Appreciating the people of Gujarat, Modi said their cooperation helped in controlling the situation in a very short time.

Urging people to work together for development, he said that development alone will solve all problems. “Peace, unity and brotherhood are the only correct way and we have to walk together on the path of development as only it is the solution of our problems,” he said.

“Many rumors are being spread about Land Acquisition Bill. Government is open to suggestions in farmers’ interest,” he added.
