JAIPUR: Despite tall claims of Congress high command and state leaders, the BJP is all set to form government in Rajasthan with two-third majority in the 200-member state Assembly.

The saffron party, buyoed by popularity of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and state leadership of Vasundhra Raje, is leading in 134 seats as against Congress’ 30 at 12:20 pm.

Celebrations have started at the BJP headquarters in Jaipur. Party workers have gathered in large numbers and are raising slogans ‘Raje zindabad, NAMO zindabad’.

“Trends says that we will win over 2/3 of the total seats. It is a clear mandate,” said Omkar Lakhawat, vice-president of state BJP.

BJP candidates from Jaipur and surrounding areas who are sure of winning are reaching party office with supporters.

However, BJP chief ministerial candidate Vasundhara Raje is unaware of the trends as she is performing Yagna at Sundaram Temple in Banswara 600 Kms away Jaipur.

Some of the constituencies in which BJP candidates are leading are Aspur, Bhilwara, Mandal, Pindwara-Abu, and Udaipur district against their nearest rivals of Congress.

In Rajasthan, a keen fight was expected between Congress led by chief minister Ashok Gehlot and BJP’s Vasundhara Raje with both the parties facing each other in all the 200 constituencies.

As many as 2,087 candidates are in the fray in the state.

Elsewhere in Delhi and Chhattisgarh BJP is engaged in a tough battle. BJP and Congress were leading in 34 and 33 seats respectively in Chhattisgarh at 12:20 am. In Delhi, the party was leading in 35 seats against AAP’s 25 as Congress remained third with lead in only seven seats.
