Voting timing in five seats changed in Chhattisgarh

A new option ‘None of the above’ is going to be introduced in electoral frays from the coming Assembly elections.

Raipur: With growing threats from Naxals, voting timing in five Assembly constituency in Chhatisgarh has been changed.

As per the changed schedule, voting will now take place between 8am and 5pm in Rajnandgaon, Khairagarh, Dongargarh, Khujji and Dongargaon on November 11.

Earlier it was announced that voting would be conducted between 7 am and 3 pm in the first round of polling, as per the state Chief Electoral Officer Sunil Kujur.

However, the poll panel has decided to change the timing following requests from some political parties. As many as 18 Naxal-affected constituencies will go to the polls in the first phase.
